2021 Annual Conference
A signature annual event of the Big Data Health Science Center is its National Big Data Health Science Conference. Uniting leaders from academia, government, health care, and industry, key topics of the conference include electronic health records, geospatial, social media, genomics, and bionanomaterial Big Data research. Sessions include plenary addresses, breakout panel discussions, workshops, and poster presentations. Speakers for the 2021 Annual Conference included leaders from the National Institutes of Health (NIH), Statistical Analysis System (SAS), Columbia Veteran Affairs (VA) Health Care System, Innovation Think Tank Siemens Healthineers (IIT), and leaders from dozens of academic institutions from across the country. The conference was held virtually on February 5–6, 2021. The theme of the 2021 conference was “Unlocking the Power of Big Data in Health: Bringing Innovation into Improved Care and Prevention.” More detailed information about speakers, panels, workshops and other conference details is available on the conference website.
Keynote Speakers
The two-day conference has helped accelerate the overarching goals of the center, including achieving its mission which is to be an innovative driven enterprise that can facilitate and accelerate a sustained high-caliber transformation of the University of South Carolina into a global leader in Big Data health science.
